The first novel featuring the pair, “Fer-de-Lance,” was published in 1934, and Stout went on to write a total of 33 novels and 39 novellas featuring Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin.

Stout’s writing style was characterized by intricate plots, sharp dialogue, and complex characters. His novels often explored themes of justice, morality, and human nature. He was also known for his attention to detail and his extensive research, which added authenticity to his stories.
